Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves
Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves, located a few km from Bhubaneshwar, are rock-cut caves that are believed to have been built by Jain monks. Caves are adjacent to each other and Inscriptions are written on their walls. Within the two caves are several smaller caves containing important stone carvings, footprints and sculptures. Lingraj Temple
One of the most famous temples of Bhubaneshwar, Lingaraj Temple is one of the biggest temples in the city. Built-in the 7th century the temple is religiously dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is the only temple showing the form of lord Shiva which is believed to have manifested by itself at this place. It is said that this historical temple was built by Yayati Kesari. It is one of the most popular temples in the city and attracts a large number of devotees from all over India. The height of the temple tower is 180 feet and there is an 8-inch Shivling inside the Garbh Giri. The temple is surrounded by a beautiful garden with exotic plants and gorgeous flowers.
Shanti Stupa
Shanti Stupa is also known as Shanti Pagoda and was built in the 70s by Japan Budha Sangha and Kalinga Nippon Budha Sangha. It is situated on the top of Dhauligiri hill about 7 km on the way from Bhubaneshwar to Puri. Many tourists and locals visit this place to meditate and pray. Shanti Stupa is surrounded by stupas and is believed to date back to the reign of King Ashoka. According to mythology, the famous Emperor Ashoka gave up the war by presenting his sword to Lord Buddha at Dhaulagiri.
Nandankanan Zoological Park
Nandankanan Zoological Park is one of the prominent zoos in India which makes it one of the most interesting places to visit in Bhubaneswar. Museum of Tribal Arts and Artifacts
The Museum of Tribal Arts and Artifacts is situated near Bhubaneswar Railway Station. This museum is popular as one of the only tribal museums in the country. Established in 1953, the Museum comes under the Scheduled Castes and Tribes Research Training Institute which works with the objective of developing and promoting tribal culture. Tourists can walk around the museum’s five different parts dedicated to showcasing local tribes, their culture and lifestyle. There is an exhibition of clothes, songs, musical instruments, weapons, household items, art, photographs etc.
Odisha state museum
The Orissa State Museum is the initiative of Professor NC Banerjee and Professor Ghanshyam Das, two eminent historians. You will need at least 2 hours to walk around the museum and see the various exhibits. The museum has a total of nine different sections with different collections classified into these sections. There are many sculptures, copper plates, antiques, samples and much more. Various galleries in the museum include paintings, armouries, natural history information and stone sculptures.
Mukteshwar Temple
Mukteshwar Temple is an excellent example of architecture. In this, the flying Gandharva plane, elephants, lions crushing elephants, jumping Monkeys and running deers look alive.
Chilka Lake
Quite famous for the scenic spot of Bhubaneshwar, Chilka Lake is located southwest of Puri. 160 types of fish are found in Chilka Lake. Boating in 11 square km lake has its own fun.

Bhubaneshwar Airport
Bhubaneswar Airport Which is also known as Biju Patnaik International Airport is located at a distance of 3 km from the Capital City of Odisha, Bhubaneswar. Bhubaneswar Airport was renamed Biju Patnaik International Airport in the memory of Biju Patnaik who was a politician and also the Chief Minister of Orissa State. The IATA code of Bhubaneshwar Airport is BBI. There are currently two terminals at Bhubaneshwar Airport: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Terminal 3 is likely to be completed soon. Domestic flights are available from Terminal-1 and International flights from Terminal 2. This airport was handed over to the people of Orissa on 17 April 1962 and was the first commercial airport in the state.
